A frameless cabinet is a cabinet that is only made of plywood. The edges of the plywood are covered with edge bands to finish them. They are sometimes called European-style cabinets and Ikea made them very popular. It's a very simple and modern design for closets.
Storage cabinets are manufactured on an assembly line. Custom cabinets have a more handmade look and can be made partially or entirely by hand. The cabinet boxes shown here are made of birch plywood with a medium density fiberboard (MDF) core to save money. Instead, you can use hardwood veneered plywood, solid MDF, smooth or melamine-covered chipboard and solid wood.
Double check the thickness of the material before calculating the sizes of the cabinets and cutting the dies and ridges.
